LoCHABER ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP
Lochaber covers a large area in the West Highlands and is a popular destination for tourists. The area offers opportunities to visit historic buildings and monuments, distilleries, mountains, lochs, glens, and beautiful beaches. With its incredible natural beauty (including Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain), it is also home to a wide variety of outdoor sports options. Lochaber Environmental Group through the Highland Community Waste Partnership project is driving the scheme, but it is hoped that following our launch we will have a number of businesses or individuals that will help to promote the scheme and spread the message of the campaign.

Why preventing plastic pollution IS important to US?
Lochaber contains a number of National Scenic areas as well as a number of islands. Lochaber is known as being the Outdoor Capital of the UK. As well as wanting to visit our beautiful environment, we also want to protect it from the impact of plastic pollution. In a time when much more is known about the impact of plastic pollution, if feels right that we work together to stop this pollution altering habitats and natural processes.
WHAT WE ARE DOING/PLAN TO DO WITH REFILL IN OUR COMMUNITY
We are planning to have a launch event in conjunction with our Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, and work with businesses and consumers to roll out the Refill message. Refill Lochaber is one component to support the Highland Community Waste Partnership #conscious consumption campaign.
