Refill Ambleside

Ambleside is bustling market town in the heart of the Lake District. It hosts approximately 20 million visitors each year and sits at the northern end of Windermere.

Refill on the go

The Refill scheme is perfect for Ambleside because so many walkers, climbers, mountain bikers and canoeists already carry their own reusable water bottle. Now, with Refill Ambleside they can walk into a pub or shop and ask for a Refill. This provides an ideal opportunity to engage with local businesses, raise awareness and make refilling your water bottle the new norm.

If you’re looking to start a Refill Scheme, we’ve got a guide to help you get started.

Who is behind the scheme?

‘Ambleside Action for a Future’ is a network of local residents who have come together in the wake of the IPCC report of October 2018 to take action and provide support for one another in the fight against climate change.

The sub-group ‘A-Z Ambleside to Zero Carbon’ meets regularly to work on various projects including reducing plastic pollution.

To find out more, and how to get involved you can email Mary Wyburn, the local champion for Refill Ambleside.

Getting involved is easy!

If you’ve got a great idea about getting involved in your local scheme, or you want to set up your own Refill Scheme, we’d love to have you on board.
