Located in North Yorkshire, steeped in history with its castles and market towns, the Ryedale district is bringing the Refill Revolution to its residents.
The Ryedale Environmental Group
Following a successful media launch, the Ryedale Environmental Group continues to promote the Refill campaign in our area which comprises the towns of Kirkbymoorside, Helmsley, Malton, Norton, Pickering and Thornton le Dale. Dozens of local businesses have now signed up to the scheme. Tourism is very important in our area and we continue to promote the scheme to visitors via hotels and B&Bs. A week-long exhibition was organised in Pickering library with more expos in the offing.

Protecting local wildlife
Our local area is very popular with tourists and unfortunately this increases the amount of plastic being thrown out of cars and in to the countryside. As well as being unseemly, plastic items pose a serious risk to wildlife. The Refill campaign helps to alleviate the problem in tandem with our litter picking initiatives.
