Refill Henley on Thames

The river in Henley is extremely important to the locals, for many reasons including the Royal Rowing Regatta which takes place every summer. The river is a massive source of joy to visitors and locals as well as an important habitat to wildlife.

Refill Henley on Thames – passionate locals

After officially launching on Friday 20th October 2017 the Refill Henley on Thames scheme welcomed over 15 businesses who signed up! With many passionate locals working hard to keep the river clean, the town draws inspiration and joy from activities on the river to make it stay that way.

If you’re looking to start a Refill Scheme, we’ve got a guide to help you get started.

From river to refill

Local resident Julia Carey and Councillor Sarah Miller (who garnered the support of the Henley Town Council) set about making Henley on Thames a Refill town.

With the help of their Henley Plastic Reduction group on Facebook, with over 400 members, they were able to engage individuals and businesses in a fun and engaging way. From running events and film screenings to taking action on Refill Station signup days.

Getting involved is easy!

If you’ve got a great idea about getting involved in your local scheme, or you want to set up your own Refill Scheme, we’d love to have you on board.
