Join us this World Refill Day
World Refill Day, taking place on 16th June, is about more than just raising awareness; it’s a Global Day of Action dedicated to inspiring a reuse revolution across the world.
Together, we want to send a powerful message that the new reuse economy isn’t a distant future – it’s a reality we already live in.
Whether you take part in the #5DayChallenge, use the campaign toolkit to amplify the message or add new spots to refill and return on our newly refreshed app, there are many ways you can get involved.
Let’s stop waste, before it starts.

Can you chip in to help us make a bigger splash?
We couldn’t run campaigns like World Refill Day without the support and generosity of our donators and sponsors.
Will you donate £25 to our World Refill Day campaign to help us make reuse second nature to stop plastic pollution?
Join the #5daychallenge
From Monday 16 June to Friday 20 June, take part in an impactful challenge to reduce single-use waste.
Choose a new swap each day or stick with one that works for you – Whether it’s refilling your coffee cup, reusing containers for takeaways, or shopping packaging-free options – every swap counts.
One Swap. 5 days. Big impact.
Have you got it mapped out?
Our campaign this year is made possible by the Refill Return app, the unique directory connecting people with options to eat, drink and shop with less waste.
330,000+ stations in the world
650,000 app downloads
An estimated 100 million single-use plastic bottles saved each year
Help us keep it up to date: if you spot a new place to refill and return, add it to the map!

WHY it matters
A single-use crisis
Half of the plastic we create (about 400million tonnes a year!) goes into packaging that’s single-use.
8 in 10
of people are already taking action to reduce their use single-use but about half say they can’t find available reuse alternative where they shop.*
10%
Less than 10% of the plastic we use is known to be recycled. That’s why we need to transition to a reusable future.
1 in 4
1 in 4 say they’ve stopped doing a sustainable habit because of lack of encouragement from peers or family.*
