World Refill Day is a global day of action with an inspiring vision of a refill and reuse revolution. The campaign is designed to accelerate the transition away from single-use plastic and towards refill and reuse.
Over the last 7 years, we’ve built an unstoppable global movement of everyday activists on a mission to make plastic pollution a thing of the past. Our research shows that people want to reduce single-use packaging, but they can’t access reusable alternatives where they shop.
This year, we’re calling for the UK government to set legally-binding and time-bound targets to increase the amount of reusable packaging on the market – for 5% of packaging to be reusable by 2026 and 30% by 2030.

Follow the river
Take part in a river/sea/nature walk in your local area – or host your own! Use our online resources kit and share photos of plastic pollution you find and your activities in nature with #followtheriver.
Spread the word on Social
On 16th June, post a photo on social media with your reusable or out in nature using the social media assets found in your toolkit and the hashtag #steppingupforreuse.

We couldn’t run campaigns like World Refill Day without support and we’d really appreciate any donations to our first Crowdfunder appeal to ensure we can continue our political advocacy work after World Refill Day. So this year we’ve launched our first ever match-funded Crowdfunder appeal to fund our political advocacy work in this important election year.
