Did you know the average Londoner uses 175 single-use plastic bottles a year – and only half of them get recycled! But panic not – Refill London has come to town. (Here we are in the news!)
City to Sea has teamed-up with Thames Water as an active partner to explore launching a Refill scheme in London. The Mayor Sadiq Khan has commissioned us along with the Zoological Society London (who run the successful #OneLess campaign) to assess the impact of Refill in five different locations in London: The South Bank, Lewisham, London Bridge City, Regents Street and Greenwich Town Centre.
We’ve already got over 2000 Refill Stations in London, where thirsty passers-by like you can spot Refill London stickers in the window of Refill Stations, or you can find them on the free Refill app, and pop in to top up your water bottle on the go, avoiding pointless plastics.
