Refill Scilly

Refill Scilly is an exciting community-based practical scheme, facilitated and led by the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust (Scilly’s only independent, local, conservation charity with responsibility for more than 60% of the Islands) as part of their Plastic Free Scilly project, funded by the Isles of Scilly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

It is said by many that Scilly is the jewel in the crown of the south-west, but the Islands, like many coastal communities, suffer from unwanted litter. During their 2018 Great Scilly Spring Clean they removed just over two and half tonnes of marine debris from Scilly’s beaches and coastline in just two days; the majority of that was single-use plastic!

Refill Scilly believes that all of our actions, no matter how small, can make a difference and that we have a duty to ensure that our single-use plastic doesn’t end up being someone else’s problem and washing up on their shores. Refill Scilly can assist in making that happen; helping us to continue to spread the message and keep Scilly beautiful for generations to come.
