Refill Lewes launches on Saturday 26th May 2018 at Pells Pool, the oldest outdoor swimming pool in England and a local landmark.
Every year the Pells refills with natural spring water so we thought it an ideal place to launch our scheme to encourage people to refill their reusable bottles with tapwater and stop buying throwaway plastic bottles.
We’re part of a wider campaign, “Plastic Free Lewes”, which aims to change consciousness in our town of nearly 17,000 people. Lewes is the county town of East Sussex, famous for our independent spirit, massive Bonfire parades and historical radical resident Tom Paine. We aim to live up to our pioneering reputation by reducing the purchase of single-use plastic as soon as we can.
