Refill Henley on Thames
The river in Henley is extremely important to the locals, for many reasons including the Royal Rowing Regatta which takes place every summer. The river is a massive source of joy to visitors and locals as well as an important habitat to wildlife. The importance of keeping it clean and plastic-waste free was not lost on the people of Henley on Thames.
Local resident Julia Carey and Councillor Sarah Miller (who garnered the support of the Henley Town Council) set about making Henley on Thames a Refill town. The campaign officially launched on Friday 20th October 2017 and so far over 15 businesses have joined up!
There is a an exhibition called A War on Plastics: Recycling and Reduction on from 9 August- 3 September at the River and Rowing museum where there will be a section on Refill.
